Employee Assistance Program
An Employee Assistance Program (EAP) is a worksite-based program designed to assist employees and family members in identification and resolution of concerns about health, mental health, personal issues, substance abuse, legal, emotional, stress, financial, and job related concerns or other personal issues.
Life can be a constant challenge to balance home, work, money and family matters. And as much as we think that business and personal issues are separate, truth is they are not. An employee’s personal problem can easily become a work problem.
The stress of life often shows up in the workplace as tardiness, sick time, on-the-job accidents and overall decreased productivity. At Borgess EAP, we believe that early action is key in responding to problems before they reach a crisis point, and treating employee problems proactively help to keep the employee productive and morale up.
The program provides confidential and professional assistance. All EAP visits and records are confidential and separate from other hospital or clinic records.
Some programs consist of:
-
Short-Term Problem Resolution Therapy
-
Outpatient Counseling (3 visit model)
-
Employee Education Programs – Brown Bag Lunches
-
Utilization Review/Case Management
-
Corrective Action/Job Jeopardy Program
-
Conflict Resolution Services and Mediation (Certified Mediator)
-
Critical Incident Stress Debriefing
-
Dependent care services (Child care and Eldercare consults)
- Substance Abuse Professional Services (assessments, referrals, DOT certified)
