Sleep Disorders Center
Do you wake up groggy? Or have trouble staying awake on the job all day? Believe it or not — you’re not alone.
In the United States, more than 100 million Americans of all ages regularly fail to get a good night’s sleep. Worse yet, lack of sleep can result in decreased job performance, on-the-job accidents and even medical illnesses.
If this could be you, there’s good news. At the Borgess Sleep Disorders Center, we can help you finally put your sleep issues to bed. The Borgess Sleep Disorders Center is the area’s only hospital-based sleep study program and is staffed by registered technologists. Therefore, you can have peace of mind knowing that you have access to expert care and immediate help if you should need it.
The Borgess Sleep Disorders Center has been selected to participate in a pivotal clinical study to evaluate the safety and effectiveness of a new therapy for patients with moderate to severe obstructive sleep apnea (OSA). The STAR trial (Stimulation Therapy for Apnea Reduction) will be conducted to evaluate the efficacy of Inspire™ Upper Airway Stimulation (UAS) therapy, an implantable therapy that works with the body's natural physiology to prevent airway obstruction during sleep.
Those who suffer from OSA who would like to receive more information about enrolling in the STAR trial should contact 1-888-844-4811, or visit www.theSTARtrial.com. |
