Reject Linen

Policy
Rejected unusable clean linen that does not meet your quality standards should be placed in a green rejected linen bag that is provided by TSI to the linen department. The bags should be hanging on the linen carts or in a designated area near the linen cart. Clean linen that is torn, stained, or unusable in any way should be placed in the green bags. When the bag becomes full, place the bag in with the soiled linen for return and call the linen department for a replacement. The bags will then be inspected by employees at TSI to determine if the items need to be pulled out of inventory or can be repaired. By participating in this process you can help make sure that only the best quality linen is being used for your patients.

Procedure
The rejected item must be placed in a green reject linen bag to be sent back to TSI. The rejected linen will be checked to verify the policy is being followed and all accepted reject linen will be weighed for the customer to receive credit.

It is in the mutual interest of Textile Systems, Inc. and its customers to improve the quality of the circulating linen inventory by establishing and following mutually acceptable guidelines defining reject linen. Reject linen is defined as any clean delivered linen item that exhibits any of the following characteristics:

  • Any item torn or ripped

  • Any item with an unusable zipper or snap

  • Any stained or soiled item

  • Any item that has been written on

  • Any other unusable item

Please remember NEVER to throw linen in the garbage!
